My apartment has several outlets that apparently have seen thorough usage. They will not retain any cords of mine when I plug in devices. These outlet extenders allow me to block the entire outlet, without removing the outlet wall plate (the retaining screw to your wall plate will get removed/retained for move-out time.) You unscrew the wall plate retaining screw, keep the plate in place, insert this outlet extender into both outlets, fasten it to the outlet using the provided long replacement plate screw, and you are done. A grounded 6 outlet box with two USB-A ports and a USB-C port. The only wish was that the 6 outlet were further apart, as a lot of my devices use the ‘brick’ transformers and you have to be creative with your arrangement. Have bought two of these for my apartment living room outlets, love them, been here 7 weeks and they are great. Saves me from asking my landlord or the maintenance group about replacing the old outlets, the process to install these is not destructive to the walls or to the outlets themselves, so move-out should be no-muss, no-fuss.

I have a similar item used in my home office (a former bedroom). Small space, 2 outlets-not enough to make everything go. That unit got everything covered under my desk. A lot more orderly..With 1 outlet readily accessible on my boat, this unit will provide for charging phones, small electronics, a plug in cooler, and other small load items in a great location. It takes up no space. It also provdes surge protection, and is listed for the same load capacity as the outlet/circuit.A lot more orderly 😉

Only fits rounded sockets, not rectangular Decora the most common type
Check what type of electrical outlet you have before buying.Only works on older rounded double sockets. You must remove the cover plate and screw this, using supplied long screw, into the hole between the 2 sockets where the cover plate is normally screwed. This secures this device firmly to the socket – it won’t pull out when you remove plugs etc.Will not work with modern Decora rectangular outlets which don’t have a screw hole in the center – the Decora cover plate uses 2 screws at top and bottom. The device will be loose and will likely fall out of the socket.I changed my Decora outlet for one of the older style I had. The unit now works fine and I like the way the center screw holds it firmly in place.But I downgraded to 3 stars because the description didn’t warn me that it wouldn’t work with square Decora type outlets which are most common in North America. Many people would not be comfortable swapping outlets as I did.
