Tired of having to adjust timers based on sun up/sun down, daylight savings time, or sensors that just don’t seem to work all that well? It is time to give up the old way of connecting outdoor lights and using something better, and this is that something.Sure there are other brands out there that cost considerably more, but they don’t do anything more than this does. And while you can find “timers” that cost less, they do far less and are far less reliable. The pairing process is braindead simple and doesn’t require a separate hub. From there it is one simple step to add it to Alexa or Google Home. You can then do things like set them to go on at “sunset” and just forget about it, no need to adjust for DST or changing daylight hours. Of course, if you do want to override it for some reason, you can simply tell Alexa (or Google) to just turn it on. Or if you don’t happen to have your phone on you, or aren’t near your assistant, there is a button to tap to turn it on.The casing is solid and well made, durable and feels substantial, and has survived through summer and winter weather and continued to work without issue. Stop messing with inferior product, and certainly don’t overpay when you don’t need to do so, this Kasa version is everything you need. I have both the single outlet and double outlet (which gives each outlet a separate id so they can be turned on or off individually if you so choose), and both are superior products and well worth the price asked for them.

I had to reach out to TP Link Kasa technical service for a situation when my Ksas KP400 outdoor plug stopped working with Alexa. I was supported by Carlo who correctly diagnosed the problem to a DNS server issue with my wifi router and enabled the set up so that my outdoor plus started working with Alex again. I eally appreciated the professional and efficient service from TP Link team. Thank you!

This is small enough to fit into the metal enclosure used for many outdoor landscape transformers. This is great as it easily turns a “dumb” outdoor landscape lighting system into a smart one with no fuss and minimal expense. The Kasa app works great with my iPhone, and allows me to turn the lights off and on relative to local sunset throughout the year, as well as dim all of the lights as much as I want. I haven’t tried the Alexa integration, but expect it would work fine. However using the Kasa app, I just set it and forget it and don’t have to touch it all year round. Works great, love it!

We connected our String Lights to this Kasa Outdoor Smart Dimmer Plug, IP64 Plug- in Dimmer, and performed the set-up on the Kasa App. WORKS GREAT! Integrated with Alexa without any problems. We highly recommend this outdoor smart dimmer plug. Very reasonably priced. 5 stars all across the board!

Overall, I am satisfied with this outdoor electrical plug. It’s nice having the patio lights turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn. Programming it wasn’t intuitive for me. And it took a couple times of trial and error. But I was able to figure it out.

After having many outdoor timers that I had to read the manual just to set the clock, I finally decided to buy one of these. It sits 30 out in front of my house and still receives wifi. It was very easy to setup. Just remember to turn off the VPN on your phone during the plug’s setup. The app has timers, multiple schedules, etc, and is intuitive enough where you don’t need to read up on anything. It’s been working like a champ. I can highly recommend. I love it so much that I also bought the indoor plugs.

I can’t say that about some other brands. Setup couldn’t be easier! Alexa works flawlessly with this Kasa product❗️Well manufactured with high quality materials. They are addictive! I continue to buy more and more!

Below is my 3 star rating which I’m changing to 4 stars now that I’ve done some more investigating. I thought rain was getting into the TPLink plug and causing the GFCI to trip – but I found out it was where the lights plugged into an extension cord. I removed the TPLink plug from the outlet and plugged the extension cord directly into the GFCI outlet and it tripped. Hmm. Guess the TPLink wasn’t the problem. It turns out there was water in the extension cord plug from a heavy rain. That must have been the issue with my first TPLink plug also. So, if your GFCI plug keeps tripping and you’re using an extension cord, check the female end of the extension cord and see if there is some water in it. I’m going to wait for it to dry completely and then use electrical tape to keep water out of the connection. For some reason there is still some current going through the string lights even when the lights are off which is why the 4 star rating rather than 5.Original review when I thought the TPLink plug was causing the GFCI to trip:This is my second purchase of this 2 plug unit. I use it to remotely control some string lights. It was easy to setup and has good wifi range. It responds almost immediately using Alexa. I have a schedule so the lights turn on at dusk and turn off at 10:00 PM. That’s the good – now the bad. I turned off the lights using Alexa and replaced a broken bulb – and got shocked while doing so. Power was obviously still flowing even thought it was supposed to be off. I also noticed that the lights wouldn’t turn off all the way – they would glow faintly. The GFCI would trip frequently as would the breaker in the fuse box. I figured I had a bad plug and bought another. It has been working fine for the most part, but the GFCI breaker would intermittently trip with it also. I replaced the GFCI outlet. No help. It had been working fine for the last few weeks until we had a lot of rain the last two days. It has now begun tripping the GFCI outlet again and the breaker in the fuse box. It says it’s waterproof but obviously isn’t. I’m going to get rid of it and try a different brand. Too bad because I really like it when it works.

Ampliamente recomendable.
