    all or nothing:works extremely quiet UNTIL a flying insect decides to follow the light, then POW! if you have ever heard a loud crack of a pistol going off, like a .22 or when you have a hot pan with grease and drop in a drop of water, then you won’t be surprised when this unit makes same loud crackling noise.I live in Florida and lately, I suspect due to the wet heat the US has been experiencing, here in Central Florida, we have been swarmed with “moth flies” very annoying bugs, slightly larger than fruit flies but smaller than actual flies. we covered all drains and overflows but have to use sink eventually and the fliers get everywhere. must be attracted to CO2 like skeeters cuz these moth flies are attracted to people too.Anyways, this zapper works like a charm. A friend has one, and recommended it and I recommend it to anyone with annoying flying bugs. I did not empty mine yet, so if you zoom in, you can see how effective this unit is.(1 star for noise means it is L*O*U*D when it zaps the bug otherwise its whisper quiet.)

     This bug zapper is an absolute life changer.For the past 9 years that I’ve lived in this house every single summer my house is infested with tiny gnats/fruit flies. They take over my kitchen because of the trash can having decomposing foods and they move upstairs to my bedroom and bathroom. While sitting in bed they fly in my face, up my nose nostrils, in my eyes, and in my ears and mouth. They’re attracted to the carbon dioxide emanating from ur breath and eyes. I’ve tried all of the tricks n traps (i.e. Apple cider vinegar, dish soap, sugar etc.) and those traps did in fact kill hundreds of gnats but it didn’t deter them from flying in my face and food and it didn’t keep them out of my bedroom or decrease their population within my home. But this bug zapper attracts them to it and kills them and somehow keeps the gnats from harassing me or flying near my face. It also has somehow made the gnats leave my home. I don’t even see the gnats in my kitchen trash can anymore which was the main source of the gnats. It’s amazing because I don’t even have the bug zapper in my kitchen area. It’s kept upstairs in my master bedroom. It’s as if the gnats have communicated to each other to stay out of my home because of the zapper. This bug zapper is an absolute miracle because I was actually contemplating moving out of this house because of how these gnats were absolutely terrorizing me every single day of every summer for the last 9 years. I am not a paid or sponsored reviewer or customer. I am a true purchasor of the product who is simply giving a 100% honest review. THIS THING IS AWESOME. NOTE : I don’t know how long this thing lasts because I’ve only been using it for about a month. Also when ever a bug gets zapped it makes a very loud popping sound which will startle u almost every time. U will never get used to the loud sudden POP. But u will love to hear that sound because u know it’s another annoying gnat getting killed.

    SO, if you have lots of plants and or recycle you might have Fungus Gnats or even Fruit Flies. You can (We did) try everything to get rid of them, Bleach in drains, boiling water, rinse everything.. The list goes on. I reached my end,, I read the other reviews and everyone was saying these weren’t touching the bigger flying insects. But it was killing lots of Gnats and Fruit flies. Best $04 I have spent in this crusade.. Plugged it in last night on a table and this was this mornings find,,, 9 hours.. 🙂

    I recommend this one. I had bought another very similar zapper and it worked but broke about 40 days of use. This model seem to be WAY better. I just replaced the two lamps with those spares provided after 1+ .years of use so nothing to complain about there. This is great for in my shop garage. Bugs usually make a loud SNAP when they hit the electric grid and they are toast. Three dogs here the youngest one does not like the snap sound and he barks at it…lol

    The challenge is that mosquitos will be attracted to you and to other light sources. So it works best when there are no other light sources and when you put it right next to you. I just had it in a small room and if did zap one mosquito. Yet I was 6 ft away and got bitten in the wrist and in the ankle. So unless you are going to prime the room it is going you may have to have it really close to you. Like in order not to be bitten in the legs during the day I put it right in front of my feet. It is evening now and it is running in the next room. It zapped two in 10 mins. So if I were to leave to room dark and have it on it would probably clear the room in an hour or less. Getting a 3rd unit so that we do not have to move it all the time.

    The Aspectek Insect Killer works great!! We love the sound of the loud crack! The first few times it zapped bugs we both jumped. lol but now it puts a smile on our face every time. We knew we had a problem with biting insects but couldn’t see them, it had killed more than expected so we are very pleased, and not bothered by the biting insects anymore. We can comfortably sit in our living room again without slapping and itching. The bugs whatever they are, are so tiny and black, you can barley see them but we can see all of them that have been killed under the blue light. We have no pets whatsoever, no dogs, no cats, no birds, nothing so we are not sure why we have them this year. We have only had ours for a work and are not disappointed that we ordered it. Close family members purchased this last year and it is still working great, so great they ordered another one for another room in their home because they were happy with the first one. Our space that we are using the Aspectek Insect Killer covers about 450 square feet.We are recommending the Aspectek to others telling them how well it works. We also love the extra 2 replacement bulbs as a bonus!

    Kills bugs
    I like the snap of the unit when a fly is killed. The only short fall I find is the bugs aren’t immediately attracted to the unit and fly into it by accident. Maybe my expectations were a bit to high in this. Time will tell but overal it works great, is as the add says.

    Turns all bugs into lightning bugs
    Well, at least for a fraction of a second. It’s satisfying to hear the loud POP of any insect being vaporized in the blink of an eye. My wife still shrieks and jumps now and then but is getting used to it.Seriously though- we seemed to have developed a bit of a fungal gnat problem, seeing them once in a while. It was apparently worse than we had observed, as the zapper was going off regularly the first couple of days (photo is from the first overnight). The little corpses do spread out over a bit of a blast area but easily vacuumed up.Would definitely buy again, does come with a spare set of UV tubes, highly recommend!

    Effective but very noisy when working
    I got these to deal with flies in a restaurant – I was renting a wall mounted fly light (in the kitchen) from the pest control company and I thought these would work for much less $$. They can’t be used when open for business because the zapping noises can be heard from the dining room. We found that leaving them on overnight is the most effective and they really brought the situation under control. It looks like they don’t work because I rarely see a fly in the tray but they often disintegrate on contact, so make sure they are placed on a cleanable surface with nothing close by.

    ZAP!
    Très efficace! Tue des mouches 24h/24h 7jour/7. Plus efficace le soir et la nuit quand il est la seule source de lumière, d’ailleurs il fait une très belle veilleuse. Aucun bruit audible sauf quand il ZAP! un insecte et on s’habitue rapidement au ”coup de fusils” pas mal moins désagréable que la mouche qui te réveille ou te tourne autour sans arrêt.
